Overview Shade loving perrenials with striking heart shaped flowers that last for weeks in a vase. Hardy in Zones 10b and 11. Slow to recover from frost damage and may not survive a hard freeze. Do not over fertilize and keep plants on the dry side. Produces long lasting cut flowers.

• Anthurium, Tailflower, Flamingo-Flower (anthurium andraeanu) This was a gorgeous flower that I grew in Tampa, but it was knocked out in a hard freeze, even with covering. If you live in Zone 9, I'd recommend putting it in a pot and bringing it inside when it gets below the mid-30's.
